On September 4th, a co-creation workshop was held at the Universidad Católica de Valencia (UCV) with eight in-service teachers from Primary and Secondary Education. The activity aligns with the project’s efforts to ensure that the development of AI-related training resources is grounded in the real needs, experiences, and expectations of educators.
Using a participatory approach, teachers actively contributed feedback and shared their experiences with the use of AI in educational settings. Their insights provided valuable evidence to support the project’s SO4, which focuses on the co-design, development, and testing of a teacher training program delivered through physical, blended, and online micro-learning approaches. The workshop helped identify current practices, challenges, opportunities, and professional development needs related to AI in education.
Participants explored and discussed key topics including AI for professional engagement; AI-supported teaching, learning and assessment processes; personalised and adaptive learning for inclusive education; AI-assisted learning environment and content design; and the ethical implications of AI, including issues related to bias and responsible use.
The workshop generated practical recommendations that will directly inform the design of relevant, user-centered, and impactful training activities. By involving teachers as co-creators rather than end-users, the project strengthens stakeholder ownership, enhances the quality and applicability of the training programme, and increases its potential to support educators in developing the competencies needed to use AI effectively, inclusively, and ethically in their professional practice.
