As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to reshape the educational landscape, European initiatives are joining forces to ensure teachers are equipped not only with digital competencies but also with the ethical, creative, and pedagogical capacities required for meaningful AI integration.
We are proud to announce a new strategic synergy between two leading Erasmus+ projects, EmpowerAId and ACT-AI, both committed to empowering pre and in-service teachers to harness the potential of AI in education.
EmpowerAId: Empowering Educators for Creative and Ethical AI Integration
EmpowerAId – Empowering pre- and in-service teachers to harness the potential of AI for designing creative and ethical digital education ecosystems, is a three-year Erasmus+ Teacher Academies project uniting ten partners from eight EU countries.
The project focuses on building an innovative and sustainable network of Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) providers. Its mission is to strengthen teachers’ and teacher educators’ capacities to apply AI literacy, ethical reasoning, and creative pedagogical approaches in their daily teaching practice
Through research, co-designed training programmes, and cross-European mobility schemes, EmpowerAId contributes to a new generation of teachers ready to lead Europe’s digital transformation in education.
Building Bridges: Shared Goals, Shared Impact
Both EmpowerAId and ACT-AI share a common vision, to transform teacher education through innovation, collaboration, and ethical AI adoption. With the alignment of their effort the two projects will:
- Exchange research findings and best practices to strengthen AI literacy and pedagogical innovation.
- Promote European cooperation and mobility, offering educators opportunities for shared learning and intercultural exchange.
- Support policy dialogue and evidence-based recommendations to advance the integration of AI in teacher education at national and EU levels.
- Ensure sustainability and transferability of resources through interoperable platforms and open-access materials.

This collaboration marks an important step toward a cohesive and future-oriented European teacher education ecosystem, where educators are empowered to navigate AI with confidence, creativity, and ethical awareness. EmpowerAId and ACT-AI aim to create a long-lasting impact on teacher education policy and practice, ensuring that every European teacher can contribute to, and benefit from, the digital transformation of education.
